There are numerous bushwalking tracks through the mountains and parks. Tullah is also home to the Wee Georgie Wood which is the oldest steam train in Tasmania.
Tullah is a peaceful former mining town, surrounded by a beautiful landscape of lakes, rivers, and mountain ranges. Just 15 minutes drive from Tullah is Montezuma Falls, Tasmania’s highest waterfall. Tullah is situated within the Tarkine Forest Reserve which is a huge area of temperate rainforest, sand dunes, and coastal heath-land. Though not designated as a national park, the area contains a wildly diverse landscape. Just 30 minutes north of Tullah sits Cradle Mountain which is ranked 7 in the top 10 of Australia’s most visited places. Cradle Mountain is part of the Tasmanian Wilderness World Heritage Area and one of Tasmania’s most accessible and interesting places.
